We were really excited to be able to work with a new distillery in Ireland, The Boatyard Distillery. United Creatives are the designers behind this striking design utilizing silver hotfoils on Colorplan, taking elements of the location and history of the Distillery.

After testing different metallic foils on various papers they settled for two shades of silver on Imperial Blue Colorplan. We added a letterpress printed barcode and a blind emboss to enhance the tactile nature of the product. The labels are kiss cut to make peeling and application to the bottles as easy as possible.

If these taste as good as they look The Boatyard are onto a winner!

Check out their business cards too!

Edge Painted Business Cards

The brief called for super thick board with edge painting and we talked at length about the effect they hoped to achieve. We sourced this 1000mic 100% recycled dark grey board – perfect!

The cards were printed on our Heidleberg platen presses in silver ink, 2 sides. The ‘Crown’ logo on the front was due to be a deboss but we printed a transparent white to help lift it.

Along with the initial inquiry came lots of examples of the kind of effect Jökull was looking to achieve. After a few emails back and to we felt we had a clear idea of the best way forward. The cards were printed on our Heidelberg platen in silver ink onto 540gsm black stock. The sheen from the silver ink changing with light from different directions.

The heavy stock allowed for a deep impression which resulted a firm business card that feels solid in your hand.
