Super stylish cards created for Feix & Merlin. These cards utilise a blind debossing and ink on one side of a 540gsm Colorplan Smoke, with an ink the other. We love the patterned optical illusion effect across the back, the debossed lines make for a great tactile feel for these cards.

Business Cards for The Eighty-Eight. A publication curated by Jamie Cullum. Black ink one side on a 540gsm Colorplan Pale grey, with a vibrant neon green edge paint.

In Jamie’s words; “The magazine isn’t about me necessarily, but about things that I’m interested in. I’m really interested in journalism and writing, and I know so many writers, so I thought I could have a go and get some friends involved. Sophie’s a writer, my best friend is a playwright, another runs an amazing burger blog and others interested in short stories. Not many people know that I did English literature and typography, so I got to indulge my passion for fonts and design.”

Triplex business cards printed for Sparrow Design.

Two sheets of 175gsm Real Grey either side of a vibrant 540gsm Mandarin with an ink to match. The heavier weight of the central card works as a great alternative to edge painting. Tasteful and effective!

GEM Creative Services

Georgina at GEM Creative Services was looking for something a little different for her business cards. We talked with her making numerous suggestions and arranged for various samples and tests. One of the tests was a Colorplan/Twist Duplex which really caught our attention. Something to play on the senses.

The green Twist is a wonderfully tactile stock, almost hairy to touch and is a perfect partner to contrast the white Colorplan.

2 colour and deboss business cardsLightbulb are a design consultancy with bright ideas looking for a print finish to give their business cards another dimension. The design was created for letterpress and the black and grey ink sinks deep into the 425gsm pure cotton paper. The focal point though is the debossed lightbulb, certain to draw attention when handed out. A deboss clearly shows the impression letterpress can make into the paper, leaving a beautiful tactile finish only possible with this amazing technique.

Duplex Business Card

Grey & debosed business cardGrey & debosed business cardGrey & debosed business cardGrey & debosed business cardWe enjoyed printing these business cards for designer David Parsons at Give A Damn Design. A clean design of slab serif type in grey ink and debossed logo. Deboss is letterpress printing but with no ink and creates a superbly tactile finish. (Click here to see another example of deboss). The card is white front and grey back, sandwiched together to create a striking effect that works with the design.

The cards were designed by David and supplied to us as a PDF and we printed the cards on our 1969 Heidelberg press.

Dimensions: 85 x 55mm
